Where the Tucson ResortTransportation Team Likes to Eat
Ah, breakfast, everybody’s favorite meal. You have a great breakfast, the whole day seems to go right. Tucson is blessed with having a multitude of great breakfast spots, so by no means does the following list represent the “best, ” just some of the favorite places that our team members like to get their day started at.
Poco & Mom’s
This Eastside cafe is usually ranked in the top 5 of every “best breakfast” survey published in Tucson. The cuisine here is described as “New Mexican” style cooking, with Hatch chiles a major ingredient of most menu items. Their Hatch red and green chile sauces are some of the best in town, and are available to go. Our favorite breakfast items are the Silver City Breakfast (hash browns with grilled onions, topped with fresh Hatch green chile sauce, melted cheddar and jack cheese, and two eggs any style, along with homemade re-fried beans and flour tortilla ($7.99); and the Chile Verde Omelet (a three egg omelet with green chile & cheddar cheese, smothered in chile verde meat sauce, and served with homemade re-fried beans and flour tortilla ($8.99).
Poco & Mom’s is located at 1060 S Kolb Road (Kolb & 22nd). Hours are 6 am to 9 pm, Tuesday through Saturday, and 7 am to 2 pm on Sundays. Closed Mondays. (520)325-7044. Outdoor seating is available.
Jerry Bob’s near the Tucson International Airport
Jerry Bob’s is a great place to get some grub after dropping passengers off at Tucson International early in the morning. Located at 2680 E Valencia Road just east of Tucson Blvd, it opens at 5 am. If you go, be prepared to wait for a table between 6:30 am and 9 am, and most of the morning on Saturday and Sunday.
